Anti-Flag is a punk band that is extremely political and socialist. They have an upbeat, and fast punk style. They differ from other in the genre by their activism directly in politics. Many genres sing it, Anti-Flag DOES it.
Anti-Flag have been involved with activism throughout their musical career. This has included starting the activism groups The Underground Action Alliance, Military Free Zone (a group to protest a clause in the No Child Left Behind Act, which gave military recruiters automatic access to students' personal details), and The Bright Lights. They unite with Greenpeace, Amnesty International, Democracy Now!, PETA, and Useless for protests and world wide movements.
Anti-Flag sings about against racism, fascism, political corruption, and crony-capitalism. The band is known to be far right and Socialist and has a lot of socialist, Marxist, and Liberal followers. In accordance to all of the protests and music upholds, Anti-Flag plays for the crowd and for change, not the money. It shows that this band isn't out to make it big because a lot of people don't want to listen to political punk and making the world peaceful there way. Anti-Flag is very unique and will always be a miraculous marvel that was political when the world needed the right political movements to fuel their fists and their revolution.
Other interesting matters:
The most recent protest they performed at was outside the Republican National Convention in 2008; they were supposed to be the last band to play but they had been touring with Rage Against The Machine and had decided it would be a good idea to get them involved since they had a long history of getting involved in related events. When officials found out they were going to perform, they shut down the stage's power and the band performed two songs using megaphones.
Anti-Flag's use of the hyphen between the 'Anti' and 'Flag' is not grammatically correct. It's used because they don't care about societies rules and feel they can symbolise what they believe in however they want.

"Too smart to fight. Too smart to kill. Join now. A new kind of army." In addition to this, the band had a disclaimer at the bottom of its album cover saying,"Anti-Flag does not mean Anti-American. Anti-Flag means anti-war. Anti-Flag means unity."
